What ARK Care Looks After on Your Computer

A plain-English look at what you are paying ARK Care to do each month — from monitoring and managed antivirus to updates, reports, support, backup and repair benefits, depending on your plan.

What this actually means

Normally, computer support only happens after something's gone wrong: it breaks, you ring someone, you wait, you pay. ARK Care turns that the right way round. We put a small bit of software on your computer that quietly tells us how it's doing, so we can often spot a problem before it ruins your day.

Once you're set up, your computer lets us know things like how much space is left, whether it needs updates, whether the antivirus is working, and whether your backup actually ran. If something looks off, we see it — most of the time you won't even hear about it until it's already sorted.

Who it's for

ARK Care is for anyone whose computer matters enough that losing it for a week would be a real headache: a family with years of photos on one PC, someone self-employed who invoices from a laptop, an older relative who'd rather ring a person than fight with a computer, or someone working from home who just needs the thing to work.

There's nothing complicated about it and no big price tag to match. No minimum number of devices, no long-term commitment, nothing to set up beforehand.

The problem it solves

A lot of the computer emergencies we see start with problems that could have been spotted earlier: a hard drive struggling for weeks, antivirus that quietly ran out, Windows falling behind on updates, or a backup failing without anyone noticing.

Keeping an eye on things turns each of those into a small job sorted quietly in advance, instead of a panic. That's really the whole idea.

What we do for you

Every plan is looked after by our own technicians, working out of our workshop in Fareham. Nothing gets sent off elsewhere, and there's no faceless helpdesk between you and the person who actually knows your machine.

  • Set your device up and choose sensible protection for how you actually use it
  • Keep an eye on its health and any threats, and act if something comes up
  • Install updates overnight so they don't get in your way, and check they went in properly
  • Keep your antivirus paid up, working and reporting back to us
  • Send you a short, plain-English update each month on what's happened
  • Move you to the front of the queue and knock money off the labour if hardware ever fails

Getting set up

Pick a plan and how many devices you want covered, and we'll send you a download link. It takes a couple of minutes per machine and you don't need to know anything technical. If you'd rather not do it yourself, book a remote session and one of us will do it with you over a screen-share.

Once it's installed, your device shows up in your online account with its health information, and we start keeping an eye on it straight away.

Plans and pricing

Shield is £9.99 per device a month and covers monitoring, antivirus, updates and 10% off repair labour. Plus is £19.99 and adds priority repairs, stronger ransomware protection and free remote support. Pro is £34.99 and adds a top-of-queue place, a check-up every quarter, deeper threat monitoring, 500GB of backup we keep an eye on, and ARK VPN. Covering three or more devices brings the price down, and paying yearly gets you two months free.
