ARK Computer Repair Limited has been fixing computers in Hampshire since 2013. We have a proper look before we quote you, explain what's actually wrong in plain English, and tell you if a machine really isn't worth repairing rather than taking your money anyway.
Everything's done in our own workshop in Fareham. Nothing gets sent off to someone else without us telling you first.
What we repair
Most of what comes through the door is Windows laptops and desktops, and Apple Macs — from family computers to machines used for work.
- Screen replacements, hinge and casing damage
- Failing hard drives and upgrades to a faster SSD, with your files moved over
- Liquid damage checks and cleaning up inside
- Overheating, fans and thermal paste
- Power problems, charging ports and battery replacement
- Windows and Mac problems: won't start, corruption, failed updates
- Virus and malware removal, including cleaning up after ransomware
- Data recovery from failing drives, where recovery is possible
How it works
Bring the machine in, or arrange a drop-off, and we'll have a look and come back to you with a clear price for parts and labour. Nothing happens until you say yes.
You can follow the job online: status, notes and the invoice are all there, so you're not stuck ringing for updates.
Why members pay less
ARK Care plans include a labour discount of 10% on Shield, 20% on Plus and 30% on Pro, plus a place near the front of the queue. If you've needed more than one repair in a couple of years, the discount alone often covers a good chunk of the subscription.
More to the point, machines we're already keeping an eye on rarely turn up as emergencies. We tend to spot a failing drive before it fails, which turns a stressful data-recovery job into a planned, calm swap to a new one.
Keeping your data safe
Where a repair could put your data at risk — a failing drive, a Windows rebuild, a board fault — we talk about backup before we start anything. If the machine's on an ARK cloud backup plan, a copy already exists elsewhere, which takes most of the worry out of the conversation.
